Roofing nails
Roofing nails that comply with BS5534 are an important.
At The Reclaimed Company, we are always trying to help our customers.
Our selection of nails is compliant with BS5534.
We offer a range to suit most reclaimed roof tiles and battens.
Nails for battens should be 65mm x 3.35mm galvanised nails.
When installing slates, use 30mm-50mm x 3.35mm copper clout head nails.
For fitting underlays, galvanised clout nails are always handy.
Most clay roof tiles require 40-75mm x 3.35mm alloy clout nails.
If you are ordering some tiles, don’t forget to add some to get best value from your delivery charge.
Further, if carrying out leadwork, you will need 25mm x 3.35mm copper ring shank nails.
Not sure how many roofing nails you will need?
Copper nails are sold per kg. There are circa 250 nails per kg and you will usually require two per slate.
1kg of nails will therefore secure 125 number second hand Welsh Slates for example.
Galvanised roof nails will fix 100lm of roofing battens per kg.
A kg of allow nails will provide around 350 fixings, depending upon the til used, you will usually need one per tile.
Nails for leadwork
Importantly, when fixing lead for roofing, also available from us, you will need the correct fixings.
To fix rolled lead sheet, you can either use 25mm x 3.35mm copper ring shank nails or the same in stainless steel.
Our specific fixings for lead section provides most of what you will need to install leadwork.
