Reuse Creatively

“Creative reuse supplies” are materials that are typically considered waste, surplus, or discarded items—but can be repurposed for art, craft, educational, or DIY projects. They’re like treasure for artists, teachers, tinkerers, and anyone who loves giving new life to old things. Think of it as upcycling with flair.

At The Reclaimed Company ® we believe that the use of salvaged items, locally sourced, is among one of the biggest opportunities for reducing harmful emissions generated by manufacture, transport, waste, and consumerism.

Our online marketplace promotes the sale of second hand goods locally and expressly for re use.

Don’t think about what something is, think about what it can become…

Sourcing items for Creative Reuse

Salvage, recycling, re purposing, and re use are nothing new, we have been trading in second hand goods for centuries.

However, the way in which we source materials is changing.

These days, the cost/benefit of operating a bricks and mortar outlet to promote re use are arguably restrictive. High rents, taxes, rates, and utilities serve to diminish revenues for business and make the thrifty nature of such operations uneconomical.

As a result, sellers remain active but are turning instead to online platforms like The Reclaimed Company ® to sell their wares.

Our motto, “Everything deserves a second chance” is a firm belief.

Our platform has been constructed to connect buyers and sellers of second hand goods locally around the world.

In exchange, and to cover our costs, we take a small commission at point of sale.

However, we offer an opportunity to promote creative reuse, however it is imagined, at marginal cost to both business and the end user.

  • Reuse Seattle
  • The Waste Shed (Chicago)
  • Austin Creative Reuse

2. Thrift Stores & Estate Sales

3. Local Businesses & Manufacturers

  • Upholstery stores often toss fabric swatches
  • Construction sites may give away scrap wood

♻️ The Art of Giving Things a Second Life

Creative reuse isn’t just about reducing waste—it’s about reimagining what something can be. Whether it’s turning scrap fabric into vibrant art, transforming packaging into practical storage, or giving forgotten materials a new purpose, creative reuse empowers us to see potential in the discarded. It’s a sustainable, affordable, and deeply imaginative way to make, teach, and live.

By embracing creative reuse, we not only help the planet—we unlock creativity, support our communities, and inspire others to do the same. So next time you’re about to toss something out, take a second look. It might just be the start of your next great idea. 🌱✨
