New buff pepper pot vent insert with a 235mm spigot size, designed to cap off unused chimney pots and flues whilst maintaining essential ventilation and preventing water ingress.
Manufactured from durable fired clay with a traditional buff (cream) finish, these pepper pot inserts provide an attractive and effective solution for redundant chimneys, complementing both traditional and modern properties.
The insert allows continuous airflow through a series of ventilation holes positioned around the perimeter, helping to reduce condensation and moisture build-up within the chimney stack whilst preventing birds and debris from entering the flue.
Suitable for most standard chimney pots with a 235mm internal opening, these inserts offer a simple and long-lasting method of weatherproofing disused flues whilst retaining ventilation.
The 235mm spigot is designed to slot directly into the chimney pot opening and rest securely on the outer rim of the pot.
For additional security, it is recommended that the insert is fixed in place using a suitable flexible roofing sealant or exterior-grade adhesive.
Always ensure safe access is available before carrying out any work at height on a chimney stack.
If safe access cannot be achieved, the installation should be undertaken by a qualified roofing professional.
Buff pepper pot inserts are intended solely for use on redundant or disused flues.
They must not be installed on chimney pots serving active solid fuel appliances, wood-burning stoves, gas fires, or any live heating appliance.
For active flues, a suitable chimney cowl should be selected in accordance with the appliance manufacturer’s recommendations and current building regulations.
